AmdA Coding Sequence
AmdA is an amidase gene from Rhodococcus erythropolis that can remove amine and amide groups from carbon rings. It can potentially replace the function of the genes responsible for the lower half of the carbazole degradation pathway by cleaving the second C-N bond after the carA enzyme has converted carbazole into 2'-aminobiphenyl-2,3-diol. It can also remove the nitrogen from amides and replace it with a hydroxyl group, creating a carboxylic acid.Sequence and Features
